2020-05-11

The fight to save the forest that surrounds Manyana just took another step forward with the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces agreeing to meet this week with Shoalhaven Mayor Amanda Findley, the developer Ozy Homes, local residents and Greens MP David Shoebridge to work towards saving the forest from clearing.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday 13 May at 10am via Zoom.

Greens MP David Shoebridge said:

“It is good news that the Minister has agreed to attend the meeting with key staff, and we hope for a productive discussion.

“There is a lot at stake here for the local community, with the future of this beautiful forest hanging in the balance.

“The community’s innovative exercise-based protest has seen support from across NSW with thousands of people now invested in protecting this beautiful place.

“It is good to see politicians, state and local, working across the political spectrum towards a solution.

“Now more than ever we need to work collaboratively and build a future for people and the planet,” Mr Shoebridge sai
