My name is Sukhjinder Pal Singh, and I am the Greens candidate for Chifley. I live in the Blacktown local government area, and my family and friends call this place home. I am deeply connected to this community and share in the values and experiences that shape our lives here.
It would be a great honour for me to represent the people of the Chifley electorate, where aspirations are high but opportunities and resources are not all they could be. I am committed to tackling the challenges that can hold local people back and make it hard for them to realise their dreams.
My background as a person of colour and as a migrant has given me a deep, personal understanding of the unique hurdles faced by diverse communities across Western Sydney. I am running to bring meaningful social change, empower our communities, and ensure equitable policies that reflect our values and protect our future.
I stand for change – change of the kind that benefits all of us and protects our planet. Change that reduces the cost of living, addresses the housing crisis, prioritises those who are most vulnerable in our communities, and places tackling climate change above the profits of big corporations.
I stand for change that supports young people to establish their own homes and build a secure future. Change that makes it safe for people to speak out against injustices, such as the genocide in Gaza. Change that gives people confidence that their government will stand up for human rights and support marginalised communities
I am committed to ensuring that the voices of First Nations and multicultural communities in Western Sydney are actively represented in the federal Parliament, particularly as these communities are often at the forefront of social and environmental challenges.
A country is a community, not a corporation. It deserves a government that treats it as such.
As a resident and concerned citizen of Western Sydney, I firmly believe that our region should not become a hub for manufacturing weapons. The future we envision for this community is one grounded in peace, sustainability, and human flourishing—not one where our economy is tethered to the production of instruments that perpetuate violence and conflict.
We can no longer keep voting for the same two parties and expect a different outcome. These parties have long served the interests of the rich and powerful, not the people. It’s time to vote for the party of the future, the Greens party - the party that will fight for you.
