Vica grew up on a sheep farm near Sorell. He and his wife now live in Hobart, where they’ve raised their two kids. Vica trained and worked as a teacher before joining the campaign to protect forests and stop Gunns’pulp mill.
He helped secure extensions to the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.
Before entering State Parliament, Vica led the community campaign to save kunanyi/Mt Wellington from a cable car and worked with Aboriginal people on land returns and cultural heritage protection.
