Senate Ticket Preselection – results are in!
Interim results are in for the Greens NSW preselection to select our Senate candidates for the next Federal election, with Mehreen Faruqi winning the count.
Greens NSW Preselection Returning Officer Riki Scanlan and Greens NSW Co-convenors Amy Croft and Arthur Bain thank members, the candidates, and volunteers.
We are very proud of the three outstanding candidates who contested this preselection. All brought records of significant achievement and made strong cases for their preselection.
Mehreen Faruqi will continue our campaigns to hold the federal Labor government to account, and campaigning for real action on climate change and social justice.
A total of 2008 members voted in the Senate ticket preselection.
Mehreen Faruqi topped the count, followed by Eddie Lloyd and Sujan Selven.
Mehreen Faruqi said, “I’m deeply humbled by the overwhelming support I’ve received from Greens members. Thank you for placing your trust in me.
“Looking ahead, let’s continue our fearless work for people and planet, grow our movement and change the world together.”
The results of the preselection will be formally presented to the Greens NSW State Delegates Council for endorsement on 13-14 April 2024.
