Ashfield Station used to have a secondary entrance to Platform 5 on lower Brown St which was closed in 1987.

After closing all north side commuter traffic has been funneled through the single entrance.

And people are feeling the squeeze.

Ashfield station is a commuter hub servicing up to 15,000 commuters daily, and we anticipate this amount is only set to grow after the Inner West Council’s significant upzoning in the area.

At peak times the platform is incredibly busy - and opening the second entrance would help with accessibility and crowd flow.

People have been calling out for the south Brown st station entrance to be opened for years but consecutive Transport Ministers have been more concerned with talking about planning, as opposed to meeting the Inner West's infrastructure needs.

Sign the petition now to tell the Transport Minister that you want them to open the gate! And make the commute a little easier.
