Are you considering running as a Greens candidate in the 2027 NSW State Election or want to explore whether candidacy might be right for you?
The Future Greens Candidate Program: Pathway to 2027 is a free program designed to support NSW Greens members who want to understand what it takes to be a candidate, develop the skills needed for effective leadership, and explore their readiness in a supportive, values-driven environment.
This program is a structured pathway for future candidates to gain clarity, confidence, and connection ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
What You’ll Gain:
Across a series of interactive workshops, panels, and mentoring opportunities, participants will:
- Learn the expectations, responsibilities, and realities of being a Greens candidate
- Build practical campaign and leadership skills
- Hear directly from experienced campaigners, MPs, and former candidates
- Develop confidence in communications, personal narrative, and public presence
- Understand NSW Greens’ internal processes, support structures, and campaign systems
- Reflect on your personal readiness and areas for development
- Connect with a supportive cohort of members also exploring the pathway to candidacy
- Self-care and Anti-Burnout tools
You’ll leave with a clearer sense of whether you’re ready to step up as a candidate!
Who This Program Is For
This program is for NSW Greens members who:
- Are considering nominating as a candidate for the 2027 State Election
- Want to understand the expectations and realities of Greens candidacy
- Are committed to Greens values and movement building
- Want to grow their political leadership capacity and confidence
We especially encourage applications from First Nations members, people of colour, LGBTQIA+ members, people with disabilities, young members, and regional or rural members.
We are committed to developing a candidate cohort that reflects the diversity of our communities.
Program Structure & Time Commitment
- Start date: Wednesday, April 13th
- Format and duration: Weekly online sessions for 8 weeks
- Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM (Session length 90 minutes)
Designed to be accessible for members with work, caring, and community commitments.
