Abigail Boyd

2027 Preselection Candidate

Since being elected as your Greens MP, I’ve worked tirelessly for our vision of a better, fairer world. Together we have achieved so much – and I’m just getting started.

This is a critical moment. Climate disaster, great power conflict, genocides, technological dystopias and ecosystem collapse – all while billionaires further enrich themselves and inequality festers in our communities. The dreams of a decent, dignified life for millions of working people are being crushed. The reactionary far-right is rising.

Despair and exhaustion are not accidents; they are part of the systems that keep people disconnected from their own power. Our task is to turn grief, fatigue and frustration into ties of solidarity and a resolve for change.

With clear analysis and a positive vision, we can build a movement capable of taking on the billionaire class and the political status-quo. When we speak honestly and ambitiously about people's lives, we build our movement and our vote as we redesign our society for the many, not the few.

I fight relentlessly for the people this system abandons – victim-survivors, people with disability, First Nations people, migrants, and those struggling to keep or find a home. I know that the forces leaving millions working harder for less are the same as those letting corporations pollute our air, poison our rivers, bulldoze our forests and boil our planet. Symptoms of the same corrupt system.

My experience has forged me into the person who can deliver our positive, ambitious Greens policies. As a global banking regulation expert, I was on the frontlines of the global financial crisis – I know exactly how this economic system works and how it fails everyday people. As an MP, I go toe-to-toe against the Treasurer, Opposition, and status-quo economists with credibility – and win.

I'm an analyst, strategist and activist. I don’t just react to the news, I set the agenda to progress Greens priorities. My work made NSW the first jurisdiction globally to recognise coal ash as toxic waste. Inquiries I've led have toppled CEOs of billion dollar companies. I drafted the legislation that led to coercive control being recognised as domestic abuse in NSW. I've negotiated worker representatives onto billion-dollar clean energy funds and industry-shaping advisory boards. I’ve built strong ties with the union movement, and helped cement the Greens as the genuine alternative for working people. My work exposing systemic issues in the corporatised early childhood sector has earned international recognition and respect.

I've proven that I do the work, achieve real results, and grow our movement by taking Greens principles and values to new audiences.

I'm asking for your #1 vote so we can reshape politics in NSW together. This is our moment.

In solidarity,

Abigail
