Avery Howard

Candidate for Liverpool

Hey, I’m Avery, your Greens candidate for Liverpool.

I'm a young person, renter, and a retail worker, and I've lived and worked in and around Liverpool for the last 5 years.

I'm running because I’ve seen how bad the struggles that my friends, neighbours, and others across Liverpool are experiencing.

We’re working harder, but paying more and getting less.

The prices we pay for the essentials are constantly going up, the housing crisis has made it impossible to afford ever-increasing rents, and politics serves developers and special interests, rather than the needs and voices of our community.

I’m an anti-poverty and queer rights activist, and previously the President of the Australian Unemployed Workers’ Union – and I know what it’s like to stand up and fight for something I believe in.

I joined the Greens because I saw a better future for everyone – in a state as wealthy as NSW, we should all be able to build a decent life, without losing the roof over our heads or having to skip the dentist when we need one.

Things can change, but you need to vote for it.

The Greens are not for sale. We take no donations from tax-dodging corporations and never will. That’s why you can rely on us to fight for your interests over those of lobbyists and billionaires.

With your support, the Greens will cap rents, slash energy bills, make public transport free and create free public community health clinics.

The only way to deliver real, lasting change and bring the cost-of-living down is to get corporate money out of politics.

When renters, workers, and families from every suburb and background come together, we win.
