I'm Hunter Thomson, your Greens candidate for Auburn. I'm Western Sydney born and raised, and my family has called this part of Sydney home for over a century. I grew up spending time right across these suburbs alongside my mates, whether that was grabbing manoush in Yagoona, late-night shawarma in Regents Park, or catching up over Korean BBQ in Lidcombe. I’m deeply proud of the diverse, hardworking communities that make this electorate so special.

Across Auburn, families are being pushed to breaking point. Rent, groceries and power bills keep going up. People are working harder than ever and still struggling to get ahead.
The Minns Labor Government has the power to change this. They choose not to. We pay some of the most outrageous tolls in Sydney just to get to work or visit family. Western Sydney shouldn't be treated as a cash cow because we live further from the CBD.
I've worked in our public health system and as a union representative, so I've seen first-hand the pressure on working people and the services we all rely on.
The Greens take no donations from corporations, so we answer to you, not lobbyists. Alongside our supporters, the Greens have helped end no-grounds evictions in NSW and secured an extra $3 billion for public and community housing.
As your Greens candidate, I'll fight to:
- Cap rents and build public housing, so no one is priced out of their community
- Make public transport free, fast and frequent, putting money back in your pocket and cutting traffic by taking cars off congested local bottlenecks like Parramatta Road and Olympic Drive.
- Slash power bills by bringing electricity back into public hands and funding solar energy for renters, apartment owners, and social housing.
- Protect Carnarvon Golf Course as a vital green space for local sport, community recreation, and wildlife, not a site for top-down state development.
- Defend the right to peaceful protest, which the Minns Government has wound back while expanding police powers
Additionally to this I stand proudly with the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom, dignity and self-determination. Our community knows how important it is to stand against injustice, wherever it happens.
Auburn deserves a representative who understands Western Sydney, stands alongside working people and isn’t afraid to challenge those in power.
