I’m Sharon Friel, a mum of four, community sector leader and proud Tweed local.
Throughout my career, I’ve brought people together, led not-for-profit organisations and worked to turn good ideas into better services and real results. I bring qualifications in psychology and business, combined with many years of practical experience in leading community projects, so I understand the challenges people face and what it takes to make a difference.
I’m incredibly fortunate to be raising my family in the Tweed because this is such a wonderful place to call home.

We must protect our precious natural environment, stand up for our communities and preserve what makes this region so extraordinary for generations to come. Too many people have lost faith in politics. I believe we can change that by bringing fresh voices, real-world experience and a stronger focus on people into the decisions that shape our lives. From housing and healthcare to education, transport and the cost of living, State Governments have the power and responsibility to make life fairer and more affordable for all of us.
I’m standing as the Greens candidate for Tweed because our community deserves a strong and dedicated local voice, our environment deserves a champion, and our future is worth fighting for!
