About the Hon Tammy Franks MLC
Elected to the South Australian Legislative Council in 2010, Tammy Franks is the state Greens spokesperson for Gender & Sexuality and a fierce advocate for the LGBTI community in South Australia. Most recently Tammy has moved Bills to recognise same-sex marriages performed overseas and to ensure that same-sex co-parents are recognised on their child's birth certificate - not just the biological parent.
About Senator Robert Simms
Appointed to the Senate in September 2015, Robert Simms is the Greens' federal spokesperson for Sexuality and Marriage Equality. Robert is the first out gay man to represent SA in the Australian Parliament and has been very active in the LGBTI space. As an Adelaide City Councillor, Robert secured the construction of a Rainbow Walk in the Adelaide CBD to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality in South Australia. As a senator, Robert has been leading the fight in the federal parliament to defeat the Liberal Government's attempts to disband the Safe Schools Coalition program.
