NGO booted from Nauru while government looks to Kyrgyzstan

The women and children on Nauru will be at even greater risk now that Save the Children have been removed from the island and Transfield Services have been given full responsibility to care for them, the Australian Greens have said.
"As a company, Transfield has shown a complete disregard for the safety of women and children on Nauru," the Greens' immigration spokesperson, Senator Hanson-Young said.
"Transfield have repeatedly ignored evidence of abuse and refused to recognise the Australian people's right to know what is going on.
"It's clear that Transfield won't protect the women and children in their care and, by removing the only NGO that was there to care for children, the government has made an already awful situation worse.
"Sending these vulnerable families to Kyrgyzstan is not the answer. The government is becoming increasingly desperate in their bid to find a permanent dumping ground for people who are seeking asylum.
"These people should be brought back here so that they can be integrated into our community and supported to put their lives back together."
