Hi, I'm Bev Morris
I am pleased to be representing the Greens in the electorate of Schubert. Living in the North Eastern Barossa Ranges places me at the heart of the Barossa, Southern Barossa and the Adelaide Hills.
I have worked across the electorate in health, disability and education, gaining a deep understanding of the challenges our region faces. I have also served as a Barossa Councillor. My background in finance and business, supported by a Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management, equips me to navigate complex policy and budgeting issues.
I have personally experienced water security challenges and witnessed decreasing rainfall, alongside extreme fire and weather events that have affected our people, infrastructure, animals, and farms.
Rapid population growth is changing our communities, and my Degree in Psychological Science and Sociology gives me insight into the social and psychological impacts these changes can have on residents.
Public transport and its affordability remain a critical issue. Government-subsidised fares would greatly benefit our region, and I believe extending the electrified train line from Gawler would help ease this problem.
