I’m honoured to be your Greens candidate for Lee. I’m running because our community deserves to be represented by someone who will stand up for our environment, our public services and a fairer future for all of us.
I have been an Educator and active unionist for the past 20 years, serving as a workplace union representative, a delegate to Australian Education Union (AEU) Branch Council and Branch Executive, and as an AEU Officer.
I moved to Semaphore South 2 years ago and immediately loved the strong community, amazing local businesses, vibrant events and festivals, and stunning beaches. This year, however, I have seen the impact of the algal bloom on our local neighbourhoods. This has affected both trade for beachside businesses, cafes and restaurants, and our enjoyment of the beach. The government needs to rigorously follow the science and take action now to reduce the occurrences of damaging environmental crises like the algal bloom.
The Greens will continue to hold the government to account, pushing for greater education resources, more community-based primary healthcare, increased investment in clean energy infrastructure, and access to affordable housing for those who need it.
