Christel Mex

Hi, I’m Christel Mex

I’m your state election candidate for Dunstan in Adelaide’s east.

I’m running because we need to call out favour trading between government and big business, which is ripping off everyday people and hurting the common good.

I’ve lived in the seat of Dunstan for over 25 years. As a local councillor for a decade on the local council, I’ve advocated for the community. I’m on the board of the Adelaide Park Lands Association, and when I was President of Community Alliance, I helped save heritage protections when both major parties took over the planning system.

I’m passionate about community leadership. After retiring from the public sector, I completed a PhD that explored why leaders in community groups are leaving volunteering. I also know something about business, having completed a Master of Business Administration and managed BASS ticketing when online ticketing was just taking off!

We DON’T want our Park Lands fenced off, more towers in Festival Plaza, or escalating rents. We DO want to see real action on climate change, more open space, better urban design, fair access to housing, and affordable public transport.

The opposition has never been weaker and the threat of Labor controlling both houses of parliament is frightening. Your vote for the Greens is vital.
