Genevieve Dawson-Scott

Candidate for Heysen

Hi, I’m Genevieve Dawson-Scott

I'm your state election candidate for Heysen in the Adelaide Hills.

I'm a renter in beautiful Bridgewater with my young family. I work as an early childhood educator and marriage celebrant. I volunteer at our local toy library, community hall, and kindergym. I'm also an artist, working out of my shed studio.

As a renter, I've been subject to terrible housing conditions and unlimited rent hikes. I've experienced the sting of the cost of living crisis. I'm not sheltered or removed from my neighbours' struggles. I feel them with you.

Children motivate me to be more political. They can't advocate for themselves. There are too many politicians treating the climate emergency as an afterthought. I feel a duty of care to all children to stand up and demand urgent change.

I'm driven by community connection. I feel at home in roles that help people. Recently, I've been establishing playgroups, hosting clothes swaps, and organising creative projects that bring people together.

I'm standing with the Greens because I believe in a better future. I see the Greens as a source of hope - a hope for integrity and transparency, for bold changes to make our communities fairer, and real environmental action.

I will be a voice for our community, for those who are distressed by our changing climate, and are looking for considered and caring leadership.
