Hi, I’m Hayden Shaw
I’m running for Port Adelaide to stand up for our coast, our climate and our community. Together, we can protect the places we love and build a cleaner, fairer future.
I’ve seen how state government decisions affect our local environment—from the ongoing algal bloom choking our coast to the quiet handover of public land that locks out the community and damages native habitat. These choices erode our beaches and our connection to Country; they neglect the values Port Adelaide was built on: hard work, solidarity and care for people and place. I want to see those values reflected in decisions that restore our coastline, create secure clean-energy jobs, and protect our community from environmental and military risks.
My experience working in small business as a financial professional, service in the Australian Army, and as a volunteer in community and sporting organisations has allowed me to get to know many South Australians and understand what our community expects from elected representatives.
Our major parties have ignored the climate crisis and backed polluting industries, turning a blind eye to the toxic algal bloom devastating our coast and killing marine life. Labor and the Liberals both support AUKUS and gas expansion instead of real investment in clean water, renewable energy and community wellbeing. I’m running to give Port Adelaide a genuine alternative—someone who will always put our community and its future first.
