Matthew Wright

Hi, I'm Matthew Wright.

I am a lifetime South Australian who has grown up along our coastline, where I've spent time enjoying the outdoors. Those experiences shaped my love for the environment and the people who thrive in these communities. As an engineer with hands-on experience in the Australian manufacturing industry, I know the value of hard work and the importance of supporting local jobs. Having myself studied in Adelaide, I am passionate about ensuring South Australia remains a hub for innovation and opportunity.

I believe that the health of our port and its people is critical to building a prosperous future. I am committed to ensuring that manufacturing and industry in the region can continue to grow without compromising the wellbeing of workers, families, and our precious waterways.

Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges of our time, and I am determined to protect South Australia’s unique environment for future generations. This includes standing firmly against the proposal for a nuclear waste storage facility in Hindmarsh, which poses unnecessary risks to our environment and our community.

The Greens want to take on the price-gouging corporations, tax them and fund the things we all need: making sure you can see the doctor for free, providing free childcare and early childhood education for every family, ending the billions in public handouts to coal, oil and gas corporations and introducing a freeze and cap on rent increases.
