Hi, I’m Samantha Skinner
I’m running to deliver climate action, social justice, and genuine democracy for Wright. Our community deserves policies shaped by people, not corporate donors, and a future that is fair, secure, and sustainable.
I was raised in Wright and have lived in the electorate on and off for more than four decades. I bought my first home here earlier in life and, like many people, no longer have that security. I understand firsthand the pressures facing our community — housing stress, insecure work, rising living costs, and the struggle to access essential services. Everyone in Wright deserves to live with dignity, stability, and connection, regardless of their income or circumstances.
I bring over 30 years’ experience across advocacy, community engagement, campaign coordination, and public sector and not-for-profit work. As a volunteer, I have led statewide campaigns on housing justice, fair welfare, and dignity for people experiencing financial hardship. I have extensive experience in media and public speaking, volunteer coordination, and inclusive leadership, supported by formal media training and a strong administrative and governance background.
Major parties continue to prioritise corporate interests over people and planet. I am running to give Wright a strong, principled Greens voice that is accountable to the community. My advocacy is grounded in lived experience, evidence-based policy, and collective decision-making. I will fight for urgent climate action, a just transition, genuinely affordable housing, and a political system that works for all of us.
