I am running for Taylor because the communities in the north deserve affordable housing, better services and stronger environmental protections. We deserve better.
I have lived in the north of South Australia all my life, so I have seen the problems we have to deal with on a day to day basis. It feels like every year we face more homelessness and economic hardship, with our communities being made to deal with less than we deserve. We deserve better funded public services, stronger environmental protections and an easier time buying a home.
I have worked with the Anti Poverty Network to help people in my community deal with the economic hardship that we have been facing. Before that, I worked with the RSPCA and the Coalition for the Protection of Greyhounds, in both cases I wanted to protect animals from inhumane treatment. I have already worked to promote fairness and equity.
The north has trusted the same party to deliver for longer than I have been alive. We have seen economic struggle build in the north because the political establishment stopped delivering on their promises. I am going to fight for investment into public housing, restrictions for big corporations and what they can do to our environment, and bigger funding for public services my community depends on. I will fight for our community.
