Level Crossing Removal Authority jacket

2015-11-24

MS DUNN — To ask the Minister for Agriculture (for the Minister for Public Transport): In relation to the Level Crossing Removal Authority jacket worn by the Minister at a public announcement on 15 September 2015:

(1)    how much did the jackets cost to be produced;

(2)    how many of these jackets were produced;

(3)    for what purpose were they produced; and

(4)    who received these jackets.

ANSWER:

I am informed that, as at the date the question was raised:

(1)    The Level Crossing Removal Authority (LXRA) branded jackets cost $75 each.

(2)    A total of 50 LXRA branded jackets were produced.

(3)    Keeping communities informed about construction and consulting on potential local impacts is vital for the delivery of the level crossing removal project. LXRA staff work closely with the community through attendance at community information sessions and forums, which often take place in early mornings or evenings at public locations such as station platforms or shopping strips. The LXRA branded jackets are worn to ensure staff are easily recognisable to the public at these sessions and forums which have attracted up to 500 people.

The LXRA branded jackets ensure LXRA staff look professional while facing the public and representing the Government.

(4)    Various staff at the LXRA receive these jackets to use at external events including media conferences, community information sessions and forums.

There are a number of jackets shared.
