Since October 7th, the State of Israel’s attacks on Gaza have killed tens of thousands of innocent people – and destroyed hospitals, schools and places of worship.
This amounts to illegal collective punishment and war crimes.
The State of Israel must stop its bombardment, end its blockade, terminate its occupation of Palestine, and cease its invasion of Gaza.
Amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis inflicted upon the Palestinian people, it is crucial for us all to call out insidious acts that contribute to this unjust war.
Currently, the ACT Government has investments in companies directly involved in the construction, operation, and maintenance of illegal Israeli settlements in occupied Palestine.
Funding companies linked to the violence perpetrated by Israel will only perpetuate conflict at a time when the world urgently needs peace.
THE ACT GREENS HAVE CALLED FOR:
- A permanent ceasefire in Palestine and long lasting peace
- Accountability for the human rights violations and unlawful killings committed by Israel
- End the occupation of Palestinian territories by the apartheid State of Israel
- The Australian National University to divest from companies complicit in Israeli war crimes
- A ban on all weapons and weapons parts from entering the apartheid State of Israel
- Immediate and unconditional recognition of the State of Palestine
- Better support for the right of students to protest at encampments
- Divestment by the ACT Government from companies involved in human rights violations
