Hi, I'm Andrew,

I’ve called Yerrabi my home since 2002 when, after graduating from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering (Honours), I joined the Australian Public Service.

Since then I’ve also worked as an environmental engineer, been the secretary of Gungahlin Community Council, and been the deputy chairman of my local primary school board, before being elected as your MLA for Yerrabi in 2020.

Living in one of the new suburb in our electorate that swelters in the summer due to a lack of tree cover, I’ve been very motivated to work for more tree planting, green spaces and shading across Gungahlin, as well as neighbourhood upgrades to make our suburbs safer and more liveable.

As a renter and a father of two, I personally understand the dire state of the Canberra rental market, and the need for urgent reforms, like a rent freeze, which me and my Greens colleagues have worked hard to achieve and will continue doing so in the next Legislative Assembly term.

And as the Greens spokesperson for Multiculturalism I’ve worked to ensure that all of our diverse communities in Canberra are welcomed and celebrated. I also introduced a bill in the Assembly to end the ACT Government’s investment in companies that the UN has recognised as complicit in Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian Territories.

I’m proud to stand for re-election as your local Greens MLA for Yerrabi. In 2020 we made history by electing 6 Greens to the Assembly and in that time we have done a lot to make Canberra a fairer city. But there’s still so much more to do and we need to go further and faster to tackle the cost of living and climate crises. Join me and my campaign team to keep Yerrabi Green in 2024.
