2027 NSW Legislative Council Preselection

The upcoming 2027 State Election presents an exciting opportunity for the Greens NSW, and we need your input in the preselection process to choose our candidates for the Upper House ballot.

Our movement has been growing steadily in NSW, and the Greens NSW are well placed for a strong result at the State Election in March 2027, particularly in the Upper House.

The preselection will be conducted according to the preselection rules, via secure online ballot using the voting platform ElectionBuddy.

Your Candidates

Meet the Candidates Forum

The Meet the Candidates Forum will be held on Sunday 15 March from 11am-1pm. Register here to receive a zoom link to attend.

The forum has been designed to provide members with the opportunity to get to know different candidates and make decisions about who to vote for. The format is intended to test a variety of skills required of MPs, including public speaking, political and policy judgement.

Each candidate will be allocated 15 minutes. They will deliver a prepared speech for up to five minutes, followed by a Q&A for up to nine minutes.

A set of questions will be provided to the candidates in advance. Each candidate will be asked at least 3 questions from this set.

We are also seeking questions from members for the Candidate Q&A. Questions may be submitted by email in advance, or during the forum using the Zoom Q&A function. Note that these questions will be moderated, and there will not be time for all submitted questions to be asked.

Please email any question suggestions to upperhousepreselection.returningofficer@nsw.greens.org.au.
