Despite the recommendations from the parliamentary committee on duck shooting advocating for the end of duck shooting in Victoria, Labor has caved to the shooting lobby and allowed this barbaric practice to continue in 2024.
Our native ducks are struggling. Waterbird numbers are in long-term decline due to drought and habitat destruction, yet the Victorian Government continues to greenlight the slaughter of ducks in yearly shooting seasons. Most Victorians want duck shooting to end, and we know so many in the community will be feeling angry and disheartened by Labor’s spineless decision. We need to ban duck shooting for good.
