The leaked Ruddock review into religious freedom has recommended that the right for religious schools to discriminate against students on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity be guaranteed under federal law.
Victorian’s would be shocked to know that that laws to allow faith based schools to discriminate against LGBTI students and teachers still exist in Victoria, and even more shocked to know both Labor and Liberal actively support them.
The Greens introduced the Equality for Students bill in 2016, to remove protect LGBTI students at faith based school from discrimination. The Bill was voted down by Labor, Liberal and conservative cross-benchers
