In 2007, a Country Greens Network was created in Victoria to facilitate party building, foster a supportive environment amongst country candidates, to maintain networks built through election campaigns which would otherwise lapse, establish a forum to discuss policy issues from a rural and regional perspective, and to generally support rural and regional local groups. This network has seen the building of supportive relationships and networks between disparate country members working to strengthen the Greens in Victoria. We have discussed policy issues, furnished representation to other state committees in order to provide a rural perspective and created an entity within the AGV that is trusted to present country views in Victoria.
