About this role
We’re looking for an experienced communicator who can support the development of campaign and fundraising communications for the Victorian Greens state election campaign.
Using your all-round communications passion and skills, you’ll support the development of video scripts, social media products and media pitches.
You’ll join a creative and supportive team, and jump into a fun and fast-paced environment.
You’ll work closely with a broader team of communications specialists, video shooters, editors, writers and campaigners committed to making the biggest impact for our environment and community.
Position description
- Support video editing, video concept ideation and production, working closely with the lead Content Producer
- Support engagement across social media platforms, to nurture our online community and build our movement of volunteers, working closely with our digital organisers
- Support other creative communications work for narrative development, organic social media and website, including copy writing, scripting, graphic design and/or production
Selection criteria
We encourage you to apply even if you don’t have all of the relevant skills. We’re looking for someone organised and thorough and with passion for our movement, which we prioritise over formal education or qualifications.
We believe there is strength in diversity and are committed to supporting the right person to grow into this role and thrive.
Key selection criteria
- Values alignment: You are committed to the Greens’ policies, charter and core values: ecological sustainability, grassroots participatory democracy, social justice and peace and non-violence - and a passion for our movement.
- Excellent communications skills: You’re experienced developing persuasive messaging in a range of written and visual formats.
- Excellent eye for graphic design: you’re experienced developing visual content for social media and/or print pieces
- Political campaigning experience: You understand political and social change campaigning, and you’ve experienced this as a staff, volunteer or grassroots activist
- Team work/relationship management skills: You work well within and across teams, have a friendly and open attitude to working with de-centralised networks of volunteers, while coordinating the inputs you need from across the organisation to meet your goals
- Outcomes-driven: You’re laser-focused on the goal, you listen to the feedback, read the data and are able to pivot to new directions if needed to meet that goal, all while working in the fast-paced time pressure environment of an election campaign.
