Port Phillip

This October, vote for a Greens Councillor who will work for our local community, put people ahead of profits, and take real action to tackle climate change.

Our achievements:

In the last four years, Cr Katherine Copsey and Cr Tim Baxter, our Greens Councillors in Lake and Canal Wards has achieved some incredible things. Here’s just some of the changes he led the way on achieving:

  • Ensured council declared a Climate Emergency and shifted to 100% renewable energy
  • Transformed Council’s transport, sustainability and waste strategies to better protect the environment, reduce waste and make active transport a priority for council
  • Prioritised LGBTIQ+ equality – provided land to host Victoria's Pride Centre on Fitzroy Street, St Kilda, supported marriage equality including illuminating town hall in a rainbow glow, celebrated 25 years of the Pride March on Fitzroy St in St Kilda
  • Continued to celebrate and foster arts and culture - secured increased funding for our annual arts grants program, developed a Live Music Action Plan to support music in Port Phillip and continued to run St Kilda Festival
  • Delivered new social housing projects in our city and support people experiencing homelessness.
  • Increased democracy and transparency at Council, leading to the live streaming of Council meetings, regular updates on the status of Council decisions made and regular de-classifying of confidential information.

Your vote can help make sure Greens can continue to deliver the change you want to see in your community.

Our vision

Greens on Council will deliver:
