Andrews must get rid of Somyurek and other Ministers immediately

The Victorian Greens have called on Premier Andrews to immediately sack Minister Somyurek and all other Ministers involved in the dealings highlighted in The Age overnight.

The exposé has provided Victorians with an insight into Victorian Labor’s toxic culture of branch-stacking and flagrant contempt for its own members and Victorian voters.

Acting Leader of the Victorian Greens, Ellen Sandell, said it was clear that factional warlords had been playing dirty politics in Labor for far too long, and that Victorians had every right to be appalled at their behaviour.

Quotes attributable to Acting Leader of the Victorian Greens, Ellen Sandell MP:

“Daniel Andrews has refused to stand up to Adem Somyurek for years, but this surely must be the last straw. The toxic factions have been allowed to run Labor and Victoria for far too long, eroding our democracy.

“Premier Andrews must immediately sack Somyurek and all other Ministers involved in these corrupt dealings.

“The fact that Andrews put this factional warlord in charge of the Ministry for Local Government, with a local election just months away, should be deeply worrying for local communities and their democracy.”
