Following Minister for Women Michaelia Cash’s comments on flexibility for women re-entering the workforce during the ‘International Women’s Day Address’, Greens Employment & Industrial Relations spokesperson Adam Bandt MP today called on Minister Cash to get behind the Greens’ plan to give people more control over their work/life balance.
“Minister for Women Michaelia Cash talked big on making employers consider flexible workplace arrangements for women during her ‘International Women’s Day Address’ today, yet didn’t commit to how she would do it,” Mr Bandt said.
“The Greens have a bill that would give workers enforceable rights to better working arrangements, including women who are returning after taking time off to raise their children.”
“If Michaelia Cash were serious about making it easier for women to re-enter the workforce after having children, she’d put her money where her mouth is and get behind the Greens’ plan to give people more control over their work/life balance.”
