The Victorian Greens will continue to fight for adoption equality after the Liberal Party voted to allow faith based adoption agencies to discriminate against same-sex couples seeking to adopt.
“The Liberal Party broke their promise of a free vote by enforcing a party vote on removing exemptions,” said Greens equality spokesperson Sam Hibbins.
“Couples are seeking to adopt should not have their suitability determined by their sexuality or gender identity.
“It is in the best interest of children to have the widest range of prospective parents,” he said.
