Victorian Greens transport spokesperson Samantha Dunn says the Government has been caught without a plan to deal with a surge in V/Line patronage.
V/Line today tabled its annual report showing passenger numbers increasing sharply. Growth in patronage was more than 20 per cent over five years along the Geelong, Ballarat and Seymour lines.
“V/Line delivered a comprehensive growth plan in 2010 but both Labor and Liberal Governments have failed to act on it,” Samantha Dunn said.
“We desperately need more rolling stock to deal with increased passenger numbers, as well as investments in other infrastructure to allow extra services to run,” she said.
