Greens Treasury spokesperson Adam Bandt MP today said he wants to make sure that the government’s exposure draft of further changes to superannuation isn't about helping banks come after Australians’ super.
“I am concerned that the government is trying to limit sector and community input to the exposure draft by releasing it just before Christmas and setting a deadline of January 20,” Mr Bandt said.
"I also fear that there is a concerted push underway by the banks to get their hands on compulsory superannuation savings.”
“We will take a close look at the details of the bill and we look forward to receiving briefings and community feedback about its implications."
