Australian Greens Leader Richard Di Natale has laughed at Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull's assertion that that a re-elected Coalition would deliver stable government.
"Malcolm Turnbull rolled a first-term prime minister, presides over a divided party room with Tony Abbott waiting in the wings, and called a double dissolution in a desperate bid to earn a mandate from his own party," Senator Di Natale said.
"Post-election turmoil looms if the Coalition is re-elected. Turnbull won't be able to achieve marriage equality, renewable energy or an end to unfair tax breaks because his party doesn't want it.
"Just days out from the election Malcolm Turnbull has launched a desperate Brexit scare campaign, but people won't fall for it. If anything, Brexit means it is even more important that our leaders show the courage to chart our own course as a confident, independent and outward looking nation.
"When Turnbull talks about stability, he means timidity. When he talks about managing the economy, he means austerity and cruel cuts that will hit ordinary people hardest.
"Unlike the old parties, the Greens have been a force for stability over many years," Senator Di Natale said.
"Rather than creating more instability by threatening another election, we will respect the decision of the Australian people."
