Greens transport spokesperson Samantha Dunn says the Greens voted against on the spot fines when they were introduced and the Government's change of position is welcome.
"Labor voted for these on the spot fines, but have now backflipped. That's good," Samantha Dunn said.
"A better way to tackle fare evasion would be to staff every station, put conductors on trams and actually sell people myki cards," she said.
