Labor and Liberal break Richmond hearts

Greens MP Sam Hibbins says Richmond supporters angry to have missed out on Grand Final tickets can blame Labor and Liberal politicians for voting to preserve the current unfair ticketing scheme.

This year just 17,000 Richmond members will have the chance to see Richmond win their first premiership in 35 years.

Three weeks ago the Greens introduced legislation to deliver 50,000 tickets to members of the clubs competing in the Grand Final, but it was voted down by the Labor and Liberal parties.

"Today thousands of Richmond members have missed out on tickets to footy’s biggest day,” Sam Hibbins said.

“Richmond members who bleed yellow and black have a right to be angry. They should blame Dan Andrews and Mathew Guy for siding with their corporate mates over fans.

"This farce needs to be fixed before the next AFL season," he said.
