Greens planning spokesperson Samantha Dunn says constructing massive new developments without adequate transport connections will make Melbourne’s traffic worse.
“Only a handful of trains go to Donnybrook each day, but the Merrifield development alone will accommodate 25,000 workers,” Samantha Dunn said.
“There is no way congestion will improve unless public transport is factored into major developments.
“The planning minister needs to consider how people will get to work before dusting off his hard hat for photo ops,” she said.
