TURC reports should be available to all MPs or none at all
The Greens have said that if access to the secretive sixth volume of the Royal Commission into Trade Union Corruption is given to crossbench senators, it should be available to all Members of Parliament.
“The Commission has already been politicised enough. It shouldn’t now be used by the Liberals and Nationals as a political plaything to try and woo the crossbench,” said Senator Janet Rice.
“Why should it be good enough for the goose and not the gander? It makes no sense that Dyson Heydon’s ruling to protect safety of witnesses should apply to the Greens, the ALP and possibly other interest parties, but not to the crossbench.”
