Greens TAFE and training spokesperson Sam Hibbins says that state and federal governments need to work together to overhaul the broken VET funding system.
“Vulnerable Victorians are being taken advantage of by for profit private providers. The VET system has degenerated into a get rich quick scheme,” Sam Hibbins said.
“The state government is tipping money into regulating the market driven VET funding policy which is a proven failure. It’s time they abandon the failed marketisation policy and shift funding back to Victoria’s quality public TAFE’s.
“The VET FEE Help scheme is adding fuel to the fire. The federal government must place an immediate ban on the use of private brokers,” he said.
