The Victorian Greens have called for the Premier to lift the public sector wages cap following the decision to give him a massive $46,000 pay rise.
Quotes attributable to Acting Leader of the Victorian Greens, Sam Hibbins:
"After receiving pay increases of over 10 per cent, the Premier and Treasurer now have no choice but to lift Victoria’s low public sector wages cap of 2 per cent per annum.
"The Premier and Treasurer can no longer cry poor when it comes to giving public sector workers a decent pay rise.
"Both Labor and Liberal voted down a Greens amendment to the Victorian Independent Remuneration Tribunal and Improving Parliamentary Standards Bill 2019 which would have prevented the tribunal from increasing politicians pay above the Government’s own wages policy."
