Question on notice - Bus Contracts

Ms DUNN - To ask the Minister for Agriculture (for the Minister for Public Transport): In relation to the Victorian Auditor General Office report on Tendering of Metropolitan Bus Contract and the recommendations in relation to Public Transport Victoria's lack of adequate bus performance monitoring:

(1)    what is the status of the recommendations;

(2)    how many of the recommendations have been partially or fully implemented and which ones are they;

(3)    for those recommendations that have been partially implemented, what current work has been undertaken;

(4)    for any recommendations, which have not been implemented, do you have future plans to implement these recommendations and how; and

(5)    for any recommendations, which have not been implemented, what is the reason that they have not been implemented?

ANSWER:

I am informed that, as at the date the question was raised:

PTV has accepted recommendations of the Auditor General and will continue to make further improvements to this important contract and the bus industry generally.

Bus services are a core part of the public transport network. Improvements to this network are essential and we work with all operators to continuously improve the customer experience.
