Hi, I'm Anasina!
I'm the MLC-elect for the Greens in Northern Metro, stepping into the Samantha Ratnam's shoes.
As a Pasefika woman, I have a deep understanding of the threats posed by climate change, coming from a community that is on the frontline of the climate crisis. I'm also honoured to be the first Victorian MP of Pasefika heritage.
We’re in a critical decade for the climate, and people with lived experience and unique perspectives like mine deserve a seat at the table.
I’ve continued to be a passionate advocate for diverse communities in the northern suburbs who are being hit particularly hard by the cost of living and climate crises.
I’ll be fighting for our communities who deserve secure and affordable housing, to be able to put food on the table, and to live in a safe and healthy climate.
I’m committed to justice and to represent all those facing barriers in a system not designed for them.
Stepping into the shoes of Samantha Ratnam, I’m ready to get to work representing this vibrant, inclusive corner of our state. Samantha has been a progressive powerhouse in our Parliament, leading our party for 6 years through challenging political terrain, a pandemic, a historic doubling of our state party room and much more. I’m sure you’ll join me in thanking Samantha for her incredible contributions while she strengthens her campaign to win the seat of Wills at the next federal election.
As the newest MP joining our party room, I’m excited to join my colleagues Katherine Copsey, Aiv Puglielli and Sarah Mansfield in the upper house, with the support of my lower house colleagues Gabrielle de Vietri, Tim Read, Sam Hibbins and party leader Ellen Sandell.
I can't wait to get started.
