Grace Verney

Candidate for Shepparton

This is an image of Grace, who smiles at the camera in front of some bright greenery. Her hair is long, dark brown with blonde highlights that frame her bespectacled face. She wears a black tshirt so you can see some tattoos along one upper arm, and two small pendants around her neck.

I’m a university student and health sector worker who knows firsthand how hard it is to make ends meet in a regional community like Shepparton. I work full time while studying, and have a real understanding of the pressures facing those living in our region. Growing up in a low-income household in regional Victoria showed me early how the cost of living and poor access to healthcare can shape people’s lives, particularly for older residents and those already doing it tough.

I’m building a campaign grounded in empathy, fairness and equality, and where supporters and volunteers feel genuinely welcomed and heard. Shepparton deserves a healthcare system that meets the needs of a growing and diverse population, action on the cost-of-living crisis, and leadership that takes gender equality and First Nations justice seriously.

I believe everyone should have access to the essentials they need to live a safe, healthy and dignified life, no matter where they live.
