Hi, I'm hamish
I’m a researcher, science educator, and renter. As a proud South Yarra local, I love living here, but I’ve seen our community get hit hard by the cost of living and housing crises. I’m running because I believe council has an important role to play in tackling this unsustainable cost of living, and building a vibrant local neighbourhood in which everyone can feel at home.
The decisions we make now will affect our suburbs for years to come, and it’s important that we get things right. I’ll prioritise creating safe and walkable neighbourhoods, new parks and green spaces across our suburb, and building essential infrastructure for our growing population. I’ll also push for new sustainable and affordable housing, more accessible public transport, and a second entrance to South Yarra station.
As an educator, I know how to bring people together and build on the strengths of a team to get things done. I’ll bring that approach to council and fight for the things that matter to residents.
