Hi, I'm John.

I have a deep history in Ballarat, growing up and raising my family here. I’m a former Mayor of Ballarat City Council, and Chairman of Central Highlands Water while being a strong community advocate.

Previous governments have failed future generations, offering only bandaid solutions for big, systemic problems. As an older Australian, I feel we are burdening them with an unaffordable housing market for rent or purchase, a tax system which raises more through HECS than it does from the Petroleum Resource Rent Tax, and a climate and environmental crisis that grows bigger by the day. I had it so easy by comparison.

In a wealthy country like ours, everyone should be able to afford the basics – a secure home, food, and access to world class health, education and a safe climate.

We can do it. We just have to make big corporations pay their fair share.

This election, you have a once in a generation opportunity. This election, don’t let the major parties take your vote for granted. 

If you want change, you have to vote for it.
