Merri-bek has been taken for granted. Our communities are being ignored and neglected. As a housing and poverty advocate, I have fought for those who are doing it tough and those who have fallen between the cracks. We're now facing a cost of living crisis and a housing crisis that leaves many struggling with poverty and debt.
The Greens believe in listening to, and working for, their local communities. We’ll continue to build more homes and support small businesses. We'll protect and expand open green spaces and community gardens. We'll always advocate for marginalised groups. We’ll plant more native trees and shrubs where they're appropriate. We'll continue to lead the charge in developing more accessible, pedestrian-friendly streets for all ages and abilities.
