I teach English to our fantastic migrant and refugee community in the west, and enjoy sharing this region with them at a time when they are being made to feel unwelcome in this country built upon so many different cultures.
No matter where we were born, too many of us are struggling to access affordable housing and having to make hard choices about whether to pay the bills, put food on the table, or get that prescription filled, while the billionaires just get richer.
The climate crisis is biting hard, while the billionaire-funded old parties dig up more polluting coal and gas to burn, and dump vampire AI data centres in our neighbourhoods.
Politics should be about us, about cheaper groceries, free and frequent public transport, stronger protections for our precious nature, and a fairer go for everyone.
