Lini Fernando

This is an image of Lini, a warmly smiling person in a beige coloured linen top, standing outdoors. She has long dark hair that is tucked behind her ears, where you can see she has small earring studs.

I’m a local mum, raising my young family on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri people, and proudly call Croydon home. As a migrant and woman of colour, politics wasn’t something I initially saw myself in, but I believe that if we want a better future, we all need to show up and help build it together.

I currently work as a lawyer while raising my young family, with experience across environmental, anti-corruption and human rights law. I firmly believe that social justice and environmental justice go hand in hand, and our district is home to young families and older residents alike, all facing rising costs, housing stress and climate impacts.

I’m running to be a warm, engaged representative who brings people together and fights for affordable housing, lower living costs, strong public services and real climate action.
