Liza Shaw

Candidate for Bendigo West

An image of Liza, a smiling woman standing outdoors in a bushland environment. She has silver-brown hair that sits just below her shoulders and half is tied up into a bun. She's wearing a pink, floral top and a navy cardigan and smiles warmly at the camera.

I’m a local mum, community health worker and climate advocate who has lived and worked across Bendigo West and Mount Alexander for over a decade. Running our small fruit farm in Muckleford has given me firsthand insight into how climate pressures and rising living costs are affecting regional families, from food security and housing stress to energy affordability.

My work in community health has shown me the power of listening to local voices and building solutions together. I believe real leadership starts with genuine community engagement, not top-down decisions.

I’m standing for Bendigo West to protect our environment, expand affordable housing, tackle the cost-of-living crisis, and fight for First Nations justice and LGBTQIA+ equality.

Our region deserves leadership that listens deeply, acts courageously, and always puts people before politics.
